To the Event Coordinator,
Are you interested in putting together a laid-back weekend at our campground? If so we can work with you on menu, etc. I’m a food concessionaire who also happens to own a campground.
We’re in the middle of the mountains west of Asheville near Cold Mountain. It’s a beautiful ½ hour ride to the Blue Ridge Parkway. There’s a 3 hour circle that goes up to the Blue Ridge onto it, down to the next exit and back around to the campground and would make a nice ride on Saturday.
We are right on the Pigeon River so everyone has lots of things to do if they want. What I have in mind is arrival anytime on Friday. We’ll fix dinner and have a campfire. Breakfast Saturday morning, then there’s the mountains or river to play in all day.
Maggie Valley is 15 minutes away if you want to go to Wheels Through Time Museum, (it’s all about cars and motorcycles thru history) or to do the sightseeing thing. Back at the campground we’ll have Saturday night dinner and a campfire and then Sunday breakfast.
The tentative menu is at the end of this letter. We figure we can do this for $100 per person without music. You can add anything $ you want for your part in putting it together on your end. If you want a band for Saturday night it would be more.
We’ve got a good Moldy Oldie band in our area that is great. This amount includes RV (15 spaces available with full hook up or unlimited without hooking up), tent (unlimited) or hammock spaces, two breakfasts and two dinners.
We have a ½ dozen inner tubes to raft the river with and we will give people a ride up river. Let people know if they have tubes or rafts to bring them as well as fishing poles.
- Friday Dinner – Grilled Chicken or Salmon, Grilled veggies and Roasted Potatoes, Beverages and Dessert
- Saturday Breakfast – Biscuits and Sausage Gravy and Scrambled Eggs, Coffee and Orange Juice, and muffins
- Saturday Dinner = Whole Pig Roast*, cornbread, coleslaw, beans, rolls, Beverage and Dessert
- Sunday Breakfast = Corned Beef Hash, eggs, biscuits and honey, Coffee and OJ
*Minimum of 50 people, less than that and the menu changes.
For a long holiday weekend add $25 per person for an additional day of food of the same sort. The per person price can change according to the actual menu chosen.
If you’re interested let me know and we can work out the details.
